      Please, just get rid of the app menu.
      It doesn't solve any problems well, and it has very little support in applications.
      It's even inconsistent with how modern applications work (fewer multi-window apps), and gnome for that matter.
      They don't need to make a big deal about it as, iirc, the menu is exported over dbus, so that can just be directed to the main application menu. Not ideal, but none of this is.
