Phoronix: The New AMDGPU Patches Show More AMD Developer Involvement

The AMDGPU scheduler patches published this week show more AMD developers involved than once was for the open-source AMD Linux driver stack...

It is no surprise, AMD told us that the AMDGPU would lead to more developers from other departments would contribute to the common parts of the driver.
I think this is good since we might see more things being shared over time and more expertise from the catalyst team.

After all, Intel has dozens of open-source Linux driver developers.
After all, Intel is dozens times it's worth/size.

Seriously, it's like comparing a indie dev to to valve!

You should have also mentioned at least Matt Arsenault (llvm backend) and Odded Gabay (amdkfd driver).

Any numbers on the Dev:Linux user of hardware ratio of AMD/Intel. I know what you are saying is true just wondering the scale.

I'm not at all sure what modern numbers are, but back in 07 AMD had over 30% share for linux users. It used to be bigger than the overall market share.

Lets be fair now. Dota 2 for example is huge and in constant development.

it is not true, but utter bullshit, since we are talking about videocards
