    Is there an ETA of xdg-shell stabilization. AFAIK it is not considered stable yet.

      i doubt xdg-shell is marked stable any time soon, i mean what landed already is working pretty much stable but it will stay open for a while since there are soo many fringe cases that desktops need to be handled in the future. my best bet is will be stable once gnome and plasma has seen at least 1 full stable wayland only release each

        Yeah, thats why I cannot run any app on Weston on a fully updated Fedora 22?
        Code:
        $ GDK_BACKEND=wayland CLUTTER_BACKEND=wayland gedit
        (gedit:21996): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_screen_get_monitor_scale_factor: assertion 'monitor_num < gdk_screen_get_n_monitors (screen)' failed
        (gedit:21996): Gdk-ERROR **: wl_display@1: error 1: invalid arguments for [email protected]_xdg_surface

          The thing is, AFAI understand, that at the moment different toolkits support different versions and this messes up things. Probably a toolkit problem but still.

            well this command in arch works perfectly GDK_BACKEND=wayland gedit (no need for clutter) and qtapp -platform wayland, dunno about fedora sorry(i think you need weston 1.8 + gtk-3.16+ and qt5.4+)

                Weston, as usual, is a bit more exciting on the changes for 1.9. Besides also having updated license text, Weston, as usual, is a bit more exciting on the changes for 1.9.
                I think the first could part could be safely deleted ;-)
