    I have a hunch we're just one or two release series away from seeing the NVIDIA binary working properly with Wayland.

            Well NVIDIAs EGL implementation already references many Wayland functions which apparently will live inside libnvidia-egl-wayland.

            From strings /usr/lib/EGL.so | grep Wayland

            In this blog post by one of the devs involved with Fedora and Gnome he also mentions EGL Device and EGL Streams, which are NVIDIA proposals so that Wayland can run ontop of their hardware.

              And this is what actual Wayland developers think about Nvidia's EGLStream proposal, ie. "terrible".

                Now that's interesting. And I take it no one at nvidia took note of those opinions? Im overly excited to see this thing being screwed up as well..

                  Just to be clear about myself understanding this correctly. nvidia driver needs 2 things? A KMS or the kernel mode driver for handling resolutions and a wayland driver?
