        Not sure if being sarcastic or not but anyway...

        It took the FOSS less than a day to have 3D apps running on this hardware after waiting 2 years for nVidia to release the needed signed firmware.

          I'm guessing the dev's already head an interim solution they were using to develop these patches, perhaps early access to the images under NDA

            The developer had an interim solution, yes. But he had no time to work on this that much before the release. AFAIK, no-one got an early release under NDA.

              It looks like the primary changes necessary were just updating 2 xml files with various definitions in them that look like they're auto-generated from a reverse-engineering tool that runs against the proprietary drivers.

              So I assume they've had that stuff around for a while, and just weren't able to test it very well until the firmware got released.
