    Since when did they adopt GNOME 3's HIG?

      As far as I'm aware, they didn't. And it wouldn't make much sense to adopt a DE specific HIG as it is supposed to be cross platform.
      It could definitely use a good redesign, though.

        How is GTK3 support on Windows?

        Is LibreOffice using GTK3 when it's running on Windows, or something else?

          GTK3 on Windows is atrocious. I wonder if the latest versions even work, honestly. As for LibreOffce, I'm fairly certain VCL has Windows' toolkit integration. So these popovers and stuff most likely won't exist on the WIndows version.

            Last time I played around with Gtk+3.0 on Windows it worked pretty well. It didn't integrate as well as Qt, but it looked and functioned fine otherwise. I haven't tried any version lower than 3.18 (the latest stable version) though, so I don't know what major issues there have been with older versions.

            Using headerbars on Windows isn't a good idea, though. Those only work and look well in Gtk environments.

              Headerbars might work well in Mac OS X. I could really see GTK3 integrate well with the Mac environment.

                Why not! Do you know there is also a support for KDE or even Canonical Unity DE too if you wish?
                Code:
                $ dnf list libreoffice-kde

                  Yeah, the GNOME ux is pretty horrific.

                    They are not adopting any DE specific HIG. They just want to convert the gtk3 mimicking into real gtk3 widgets.

                    I got used to the UI very quickly but it desperately needs performance and memory usage improvements.
