When will GCN 1.2 reclocking be enabled by default? Also, when will we see initial Polaris support?

Reclocking is enabled by default in kernel 4.5.

Oh, I thought it was still an experimental feature. Must have mixed something up, I guess.

They changed it very late - not until rc5, i think.

When will Sea Islands (GCN 1.1, CIK) cards support in AMDGPU be considered stable? I heard it works well, but still "experimental". Of course we have RadeonSI for GCN 1.0-1.1, but Vulkan will only support AMDGPU.

It's really a matter of usage/coverage, so I imagine it will stay as "experimental" until we are able to make it the upstream default or have enough coverage from (for example) a major distro enabling it by default sooner. Once that happens I guess radeon support would get marked "experimental"

Note that "stable" is not really the opposite of "experimental" -- one is "how good it works", the other also relates to how actively it is being supported.

How about GCN 1.0? Have you guys decided which way to go ( I mean for Vulkan ) ?

Still leaning towards extending amdgpu support back to SI unless we run into blocking problems.

Messing with amdgpu now on 4.5rc6 with my 390x, this will be interesting.

EDIT: Yep its a buggy mess...
