If there's no release only git master it won't slide into coming distribution releases, so the question is when will we see an release?

Awesome! This has been my dream!
By the way, I very quickly (I'm lazy) benchmarked how much FPS is in the glmark2's first test (which shows a white horse; named "use-vbo=false") on my Radeon 4550 (Arch Linux 32 bit, xorg 1.18, mesa-git):
      Option "TearFree" "off" & non-rotated output = 1290
      Option "TearFree" "on" & non-rotated output = 1240
Option "TearFree" "off" & rotated output = 620 (it's always been low)
Option "TearFree" "on" & rotated output = 1224
