    But I want to run X.Org Server without superuser/root privileges.

    Ubuntu still runs X.Org Server as root.
    That is insecure.

      KMS runs X rootless. One of the reasons nvidia-modrpobe has to be installed to make OpenCl work in Ubuntu.

        lightdm doesn't support root-less X, so use a DM that does

          I've just tried to backport xorg-xserver 1.18.1 to debian Jessie but it needs to upgrade systemd.
          That seems not to be a good idea...
