One would hope that they would update to systemd at some point if only because upstart isn't in development anymore

they use upstart only because upstart author is working for them, not because upstart is good.

So the upstart author happened to have joined them without them planning to use upstart in the first place ?

it does not matter what they planned when systemd didn't exist

amazing, no systemd hater comments when yet another pristine script-based init is replaced by the notoriously evil, bloated, binary-logging, Lennart-spawned systemd.

                They are losing steam fast.

For sure a very good sign, hopefully those trolls will be long gone soon. On the other hand Upstart was hardly a "pristine script-based init", it used unit files just like systemd and only supported the old SysVInit script files for backwards support, again just like systemd.

Weird... I thought Chrome OS was based on Gentoo... Yet I've been using systemd on my desktop Gentoo installs for around 4 years now...?!
