Does anyone know when VP8/VP9 multi-thread will be supported? I have been wanting to compress my lossless Blu-rays in VP9 but the fact that it takes 2 ~ 3 minutes for 30s makes it impossible atm

Edit: I haven't watched the videos yet so if they mention it, sorry

With ffmpeg you can compress with multiple threads: check "Constant Quality Recommended Settings" on http://wiki.webmproject.org/ffmpeg/vp9-encoding-guide

Unfortunately the "takes 2 ~ 3 minutes for 30s" as mentioned above is with the method you have linked. It uses only 15~20% of each cpu core. I was going to run parallel instances and encode 3 or 4 videos at a time but a proper encoder would be nice...

On the other hand the quality to size ratio of VP9/Opus is awesome, just takes way to long.
