      IIRC this was a present for Microsoft - only support these cpu features on Windows.

        IIRC that was just PR people that can't stfu on things they don't know. Intel engineers swiftly debunked that on this board too.

          So one could install these patches manually on the 4.9 kernel. I think I'll wait for the inclusion into the 4.10 kernel, unless I get impatient.
