I don't have Wine installed anymore. When I had it, I used it for WinMerge and Portal 2.
What do you guys use Wine for?

What I miss on Linux is Visual Studio.

I still use Wine for Blizzard "productivity" sw (i.e. StarCraft). Is MS's Linux VS not up to par with the win version? (https://code.visualstudio.com/download).

VS Code, while nice, isn't a full IDE. It's more on par with Sublime Text.

I use Wine to run B2SPICE, which is a good low-cost circuit simulator. Runs well. VS is pretty hairy: I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to run on Wine. Bite the bullet and shell out for a Windows license for a virtual machine: QEMU/KVM supports full-monitor screen resolutions.

Otherwise, try a cross-platform IDE e.g. Eclipse or (possibly) Qt Creator. But if you're already up and productive on VS and must run it on a Linux box, go virtual machine.

Java based IDEs(netbeans, eclipse) feel really clunky and unstable, i dont know what it is about them. So i use QT Creator, but i admit i miss VS and nothing compares to it since years, but it might just be a bias.

                  fixed.

                  Seriously. Eclipse = nope.
