Phoronix: Thunderbolt Networking Support For Linux Revised Once More

Back during the summer we last wrote about Thunderbolt networking support for Linux being worked on. Back then the patches were up to its v3 revision while coming out today is the ninth version of these patches, but at least the end might finally be in sight...

Are there any signs of PCIe graphics over TB3? Anyone working on it?
Would be nice to have light laptop while attaching full graphics card when necessary.

At this rate, I'd be more interested in M.2 GPUs. 4x PCIe lanes is substantial and offers enough bandwidth for modern mainstream GPUs without taking a performance hit.

Get a M.2 riser cable, buy something like this:

Then cut a slit in your laptop for the riser cable to slide through, and you could probably do a high-speed external GPU.

Already available, but there are issues being worked out. Next year, those will be fixed. Chipsets just aren't up to specs and whatnot.

I had network over thunderbolt for two years on my computer and it worked since day one. I didn't even know that the support was not complete.
