Phoronix: The Favorite Open-Source Vulkan Projects Of Phoronix Readers

This week I provided a look at some of the interesting Vulkan engines/renderers on GitHub created by the community in the months since the Vulkan unveil. After that article forum goers and those on Twitter shared some other promising Vulkan projects worth looking at too if you are just looking for some Vulkan demos to watch, learn more about the Vulkan API yourself, etc...

The difference between realtime and non-realtime (or online and offline) rendering comes across very clearly when you look at that last screenshot. The gradation in shininess of the balls looks impressive at first glance, until you look again and realize that the shiny balls are not actually showing reflections of the other balls. This is just environment mapping, not ray-tracing as you would get in a high-quality offline render.
