Phoronix: The Out-of-Tree Wine Code To Run DOOM On Linux

It's sad that DOOM hasn't seen a native Linux port with id Software having a falling out with Linux in recent years, particularly after they were acquired by ZeniMax. But fortunately there is now a patch for being able to run DOOM with Wine...

Doom/Vulkan Linux vs Windows AMD vs Nvidia would be most interesting!

It would be very interesting to see some wine benchmarks, both Doom (opengl vs vulkan) and beyond (wine vs native linux version for games where both versions are available/relatively playable).

Someone should make a similiar repo for Overwatch so we can see how far from being complete the patches are at this stage.

Is any of Wine developers going to focus on making The Witcher 3 playable?

                  Great work.

Will they implement this code in WINE itself in the future so we don't have to patch it?

Just found out that DOOM doesn't have any benchmarking support built-in... What a pity, id Software games used to be great for testing.
