Is NUMA important only to multi socketed servers? Or it is useful to other cases?

Is NUMA important only to multi socketed servers? Or it is useful to other cases?

NUMA may be used also in single-socket server CPUs with many cores as they may be basically be multiple CPUs bolted together at the silicon level (oversimplification).

But yeah, in general it's for high-end server use.
