Not to be confused with Rustlang – I think that says something about the gamer audience here that makes Phoronix unique.

So basically they updated their game to use the beta version of unity. That is really what they did. Nothing else.

Wow, like 10 years ago I played a beta of an MMO called Wurm Online, beacuse it was supported under Linux. I believe it was something Notch was involved with before Minecraft. This Rust game looks like exactly the same thing, just with a much better 3D engine. Hope it's not as frustrating to get started with, but from the description, I'd bet it is.

Well, what do you know? It's still there...

Wurm Online is the ultimate sandbox MMORPG!

I was confused. When I read the title I thought it was some game made in rust, not the actual rust game.

For those that wanted to test this, you're going to have to wait.

It's only for the prerelease branch of the game and unfortunately it doesn't work on Linux.

Very consistent with their history of Linux support on any branch of the game.

Don't forget Garry's past comments about Linux either: https://twitter.com/garrynewman/stat...71229947564032

By Gary Newman - "If i could do it again I'd have never supported linux."

He kinda sounds like a douche. It seems like he supported Linux for the extra sales, didn't care to test or QA on it initially, then gives attitude when people point it out and critique his rather off the wall comments. For once, I can't necessarily blame the awfully whiny Linux community for a developer downing Linux.

Not just a douche, that twitter exchange betw Erik Ashcraft and him has Newman acting like a five year old with low blood sugar. "I dont understand the point youre trying to make"

                    Grow up.
