      That is actually explained rather well in the specification itself, which is linked in the article (section "Sparse resources").
      What I'm curious about is whether or not this is limited to Vega and newer GPUs. The Windows driver doesn't report sparse binding as supported on my RX 480.

        i'm pretty sure bas has no vega. it is not limited to vega, though vega has better(hardware) implementation
