Phoronix: Timothy Arceri Takes To Revising Mesa OpenGL Threaded Dispatch

One month ago AMD developer Marek Olsak sent out threaded OpenGL dispatch code for Mesa, which can be a big win for some games but unfortunately Marek is now too busy to handle the code. Fortunately, Collabora-turned-Valve developer Timothy Arceri has taken to getting this code vetted...

That certainly will make waiting for Vulkan more tolerable.

Shader cache and threaded dispatch would be too good to be true for Mesa 17.1.

This is automatic threading of OpenGL calls...

I interpreted that statement as: "Improving the OpenGL performance now will make the time until radv is truly ready more tolerable for existing games and gamers."

Do you really hate them enough to put then on that kind of a managerial track?

They may as well rename it to Mesa 36.4.

Thank you for taking on this Timothy!

Once this is done, I'm not sure what other items we need in mesa, maybe the last azdo extension?
