      Afaik no, most DEs/compositors are busy migrating to Wayland, which is far more interesting for their usecase.

        Not to mention the fact that Wayland is slowly getting more mature and will eventually replace X and rewriting DE/WM code to Wayland is (quite) a big effort, so that's more important right now.
