      cool hopefully opencl with the intel SDK for their fpga xeons hybrids comes out next.

        Along with the basic Intel FPGA support there is the PCI-E device driver, the Intel FPGA Management Engine (FME) driver, FPGA Accelerated Function Unit (AFU) driver, and other work.
        Yo dawg, we heard you like management engines so we added a fpga to your fpga so you can manage it while you are managing it.

        On a more serious note, I'd be surprised if all Intel stuff (also wifi and ethernet controllers) does not have its own Management Engine (i.e. backdoor) by now.
