      a little of both. Its a good thing if you don't want to get bricked firmware on uEFI after maliciously software writes to a buggy uEFI and renders it unbootable. It cannot run when the kernel is not, so booting a live/separate OS to modify the uEFI might be standard practice. This might be a good thing.
