Phoronix: RADV Radeon Driver Is Now "Effectively" A Conformant Vulkan Implementation

The open-source Radeon Vulkan driver, RADV, has now passed another important milestone...

Phoronix, Linux Hardware Reviews, Linux hardware benchmarks, Linux server benchmarks, Linux benchmarking, Desktop Linux, Linux performance, Open Source graphics, Linux How To, Ubuntu benchmarks, Ubuntu hardware, Phoronix Test Suite

A conformant (and performant!) driver from scratch in less than a year and before AMD has managed to open-source their implementation.
Not bad. Not bad at all.

I didn't have much faith in RADV when I first heard about it, but damn, how I love to be wrong sometimes.

David should really switch to Diaspora, and stop using LiveJournal. Hint, it's owned by very not nice entities.

Seems like David is more busy actually developing rather than paying attention to whom does LiveJournal currently belong. :-P

Well, according to someone on this forum if it isn't Mesa based, it's not a Linux driver

              "Effectively" A Conformant
Effectively is more effective word, but i think right one is "virtually" a conformant

oh I'm not the only Phoronix reader who is on diaspora nice. Either way I don't understand why so less developers are diaspora users. There is a big technical affinity, markdown support in posts/comments and no ads...

Congratulations to all developers of RADV.
Really nice to see how far they came in such a short time.
