    Asus G752VS laptop, Ubuntu 17.04.
Just installed new kernel 4.12-rc7, my ELAN touchpad is still completely dead:

Might want to report that issue upstream, to kernel or kernel subsystem responsible of that. Ubuntu's bugtracker isn't read by upstream (the ones that usually fix stuff)

EDIT: nevermind you did that too.

        I've been getting:

iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Direct firmware load for iwlwifi-8000C-28.ucode failed with error -2

Ever since I started using the Linux 4.11.5 kernel (iirc). Thank Intel for making references to firmware that they haven't released yet in a stable kernel series.

Anyway, my wifi works, so oh well. Just more random error chatter from the kernel. I get plenty of that anyway on my Lenovo Yoga 900. It doesn't (appear to) harm anything. (But who knows?)
