in the name "Unterschleißheim", the "l" is the most important letter :P

You can save quite a bit of disk space by running all your images through either of these tools (though running them through both saves even more space and does so in a lossless manner):

1. PunyPNG
2. Yahoo Smush.it

You can easily find either one via a Google search. I use these services extensively at work, and both have APIs that you can use to automatically "smush" any image.
