end of July was their Catalyst 12.6 for legacy cards released: support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/legacy/Pages/legacy-radeon_linux.aspx
I wouldn't expect that they will update their legacy driver in the rest of this year. But I don't mind, because I use the default Radeon driver anyways.
FYI the version number is 9.00
I upgraded from the april 8.960 release and Wine applications are garbled now, but KDE and native Neverwinter Nights (only game I tried) are notably smoother (less micro-freezes)
It's really too bad about Wine since I need it daily, so I had to revert to 8.960
I only tested Rage and it works basically with wine 1.5.13. It was unplayable with 12-6-legacy. Maybe you installed it in a wrong way.
Sorry, I should have specified that it's the Windows GUI apps such as winecfg which are corrupted.
Does It support xorg 1.13? If not, that would explain how I can't ge it to work on Ubuntu quantal .. :|
