Now we can see who uses BSDs...
Now we can see who loves BSDs. And as usually, these are turned out to be proprietary f..ks who are also inclined on DRM restrictions. So you can feel all these BSD "freedoms" on your own butt, after buying locked down device and then ... understanding that it's only Sony who haves freedom. Freedom to deny you your freedoms to change code on your device, freedom to forbid you to launch your own code, etc. Ha-ha. So unless you're Sony you're free to give up your freedoms and just obey what Sony tells. That's how BSD "freedom" works: couple of strongest corporations are perfectly free to f...k you up and apply whatever kind of dictatorship they want. You're free to obey or GTFO. Really cool choice.
Ah, wait. There is free version of BSDs, right? Here we can see how this approach performs: while BSD guys are struggling with a lack of GPU drivers, being mostly unusable for gaming/desktop, some proprietary corps are already using their OS for gaming. The problem? Ha-ha, Sony haven't shared their achievements with upstream project. So unless you're Sony (or equally huge monster), you can't make BSDs to run games for you. Most ironically it looks like if AMD is about to write custom closed-source driver for Sony's BSD flavor. But it looks like if BSD f..ks would still lack AMD GPU drivers in FreeBSD itself. It's really cool to see how BSD nuts are getting their views of freedom tested on their own butts. To no surprise, most BSD "fans" are using win or mac os as desktop. Which is another indication of project's EPIC FAIL.
So if someone wants to be treated like third-rate crap, they're welcome to use FreeBSD. If someone wants quality product capable of running games, it turns out they have to give up all BSD freedoms in favor of Sony corp freedoms. As for me, such community <-> corps interaction model really suxx. And that's why BSDs are losing to penguins.
