asdx, Linus Torvalds didn't send his F Bomb towards the binary driver. He sent it for the lack of co-operation with the kernel devs.
Anyway, we will have to settle with nvidia blobs for a while...
Are you from the future or is Mozilla that ahead with their experimental releases?
Anyway, with gmod 13 now working with latest wine and this new driver, I might have a fun week ;D
24bit support for the alsa (userspace) -> pulseaudio bridge (or emulation).
Pulseaduio can output 24bit to alsa (kernel) since forever...
Pulseaudio does not adds another layer of complexity. All it does is replace alsa userspace, that is in fact, very badly maintained and buggy. Pulseaudio, alsa userspace and Jack leverages the actual...
Really? Even though you need a lossy codec, that is just as good as MP3, to overcome the small bandwidth obtained with S/PDIF?
This kind of equipment is generally only good for it's analogue...
I'm now satisfied for being able to pump 48KHz and 22KHz sampled sound with good quality.

Seems to be an old vulnerability, fixed years ago by open source drivers :)

Anyway, they are deepely involved in the wine project, paying their salaries helps the wine project a lot.
Has anyone seen the addition of 256 subdevices for x-fi chips?
Two Hundred Fifty Six hardware mixing channels. For each output. Fuck yea.
aplay -l output is now looooong:...
It does works well, but once you mix many sources with different sample rates, or some specific apps hard locks, it goes crazy. Might happen only with me, but it was certainly annoying
Audio...
I found the hardware mixing unreliable. Better just use dmix or pulse audio.
Also, even tough there is no hardware DSP support, doing it via software can lead way better results. Use the Alsa loop...
They already focus on Direct 3D. You can play some very demanding games with wine, that would not even start 4 years ago. Of course, you need the right hardware and the nvidia binary, but that's not...
I hope the gameplay shapes up to the expectations!
I can't wait to test beta!
Seems to have no effect in the game neither in mouse latency.
Hope Svartalf can catch this one :)
I've only tried the 64bit version so I don't know if this is also in the 32bit one.
Got the same problem here with the 32bit build.[/QUOTE]
My 32bit archlinux machine also has this problem.
At worst this will make Oracle Stand up and develop OpenOffice...
If you think Brand recognition is everything, look at the PS3 launch fiasco :)
Also, I don't know any End User who knows what Oracle is. In the other hand, Google is almost synonymous of web...
Go-OO wasn't geared toward users. It was just a way to keep alive the code that Sun (now Oracle) refused to merge.
Even then, most distributions already ship Go-OO instead of OpenOffice, even if...
