Did you ever read that quote by yourself? Either you don't have eyes to read carefully and you didn't see that they claiming that they provided fully open driver, either you don't have a brain to...
Don't you understand that they just lied? Their "driver" is just a wrap around firmware blob. There are two option: 1) it's not a driver, or 2) it's not fully open.
What s f@ck! They erasing comment from www.raspberrypi.org on their "openness". Liars!
Also they banned my IP to prevent me from commenting. I had to use Tor...
I've send them another comment...
Actually, not. Look at http://www.raspberrypi.org/. Quote:
(the second paragraph of "Open Source ARM Userland")
Michael just didn't check it and hurriedly published that "news" here.

What is the state of radeonsi? When it is planned to be ready?
Hi! I'm running Debian GNU/Linux testing+unstable on HP laptop with integrated and discrete radeons. Linux kernel 3.2.30-1 amd64 (debian stock). I'm running with low profile and discrete card...
Well, there is some (almost good) support for radeons. I think, that all this means only that we won't see any power management docs and official code from AMD. :( Well, nothing changes?
But these...
Marek rocks! Thank you!
He has PayPal link in his profile (http://phoronix.com/forums/member.php?18270-marek) -- maraeo@gmail.com.
Hooray, Marek!
Waiting for comparing mesa 8.0 and 9.0 on r600g radeons.
P. S. Michael, where is beer-drinking smiley?
Actually, great job, Marek. What about Radeon HD 6000? I would like to help testing, but unfortunately mine is muxless and so not available now.
All this work is very exciting! What should be done to enable GPU-switching (with MUXless cards)? When it will be possible?
Yep, I meant that AMD have (actually _HAVE_) to participate. It's their turn in a game. Hey, bridgman, what AMD can show us?
But I also like kraftman's idea ;).
AMD, it's your step now! ;)
Yep, the another option is that the big projects (Kernel, X, Mesa, KDE, GNOME, etc.) will collect funds and suggestions from users.
I can suggest to X, Mesa and Kernel teams that further...
Yes, the idea is in the air. I'm in. Many others here suggested close ideas. So, it is in a very need, almost necessary now.
Last time I suggested that:
I think that it will be very useful....
I think that it will be very useful. Also I think it should be like an open auction. Users could suggest ideas to developers and developers could offer a price and a project-time (time to implement...
Any chance for MUXless notebooks? Still hope...
What a pity! :(
