Just use ubuntu with the xorg-edgers ppa or gentoo. If one uses Debian or RHEL one knows what one gets.
As already mentioned deb is older than rpm, so it would have to be RedHat which would have to change. Furthermore AFAIK rpm does not have the recommends and suggests which deb does have. RPM does...

I find the quoted comment to be funny. An old lady at my church sent me a recipe recently as an odt file. So we don't need no .docx support. No I did not setup anything on her computer for her. :)
That explains, but as for the last statement, the mozilla/firefox people took note around firefox 7 and from about firefox ten forward firefox is again pretty lean. That is doesn't use as much memory...
