Sun is working on a 64bit Java plugin for Windows and Linux.
Alsa can't, but udev can. I have this in a file in /etc/udev/rules.d on Debian:
As you can see, I have an SB Live which works well.
I see this all the time, using mplayer, totem, vlc and xine. I have to run nvidia-settings and run reset hardware defaults in the xvideo tab. nvidia-glx 173.14.09 on Debian lenny, 2.6.23.
As a Debian/iceweasel user, all I can do is laugh. The other stupid thing firefox has is "this will void your warranty" on about:config, even when the EULA says you have no warranty.
Will the performance figures include a comparison against Cedega and Wine? Also interesting would be a comparison of games with native linux ports to their windows versions.
Maybe Phoronix could do a comparison of gnash and swfdec and see which works for more sites and supports more features?
Compiz and Beryl packages for Solaris express are available at http://blogs.sun.com/moinakg/
