But actually you didn't answer my question like I wanted to.
It was more like: are there any real applications that make use of it?

What is the current/future benefit of this?
I have a AMD 6850 - what can I do now with it I couldn't do before? I mean in general with this LLVM GPU stuff.
Could someone deliver some facts about this patch?
Any speed ups in some games? Is it noticeable?
Unfortunately my self built kernel 3.8 from git isn't working well here, I'm getting random...
Funny but - whats the point?
What is the minimum requirement for a current debian desktop system? and shouldn't it be awfully slow? I mean really awfully slow?
It sounds to me like a fun...
A few day ago I've bought a new Mainboard (Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0) and a AMD FX 8350. I'm pretty pleased with that.
I have been thinking a long time if I should switch to Intel. Finally my choice...
Meh, is there anything I calculated correctly? :)
Ahh yes, I used the wrong numbers, and you corrected it, thx.
So, the results is clear: the FX 8350 is more efficient in performance / watt and michaels results is wrong then - this is actually...
Well, in that case it actually does. Because
The info says, you need 264,3s/297,8s to finish compiling the kernel.
fx 8350@4,6ghz 0,276s / 264,3s = 0,104 % of the kernel finished = 1 watt
fx...
Average watt usage of fx 8150 @ 4,6ghz is 297,8
time to compile is 79,25
297,8 / 79,25 = 3,76 - which is correct
Average watt usage of the fx 8350 @ 4,6ghz is 264,3
time to compile is 72,98...
Won't start here.

What a pretty lame/childish decision.
Actually the coward thread opener should have been banned. You know the saying "put your money where your mouth is"
He for sure is a bit "difficult" - he...
I've tested a few application but only from one I have some numbers
With nexuiz I've done a timedemo and the results are
without PCI-E 2.0: 23 / 37 / 83
with PCI-E 2.0: ...
Thank you Azpegath!
Ahh now that I see this, I believe I've read this one already some time ago.
But somehow I've kind of understood the remaining "issues" would be solved for the next releases...
What about PCI-E 2.0 Support? Or is it already supported in linux 3.3?
I believe I read it caused a major speedup in some cases.
mcgreg
This is AWESOME news.
I've waited so long to finally see this. Thank you so much.
Looking forward to see this code gets pulled into the kernel sources.
Is that bug only related to Intel Hardware?
Honestly, as a man I kind of feel pity for him. Nobody deserves to die too early.
But for me he's simply a man. Nothing special. I dont feel any more pity for him than for anybody else.
I find...
I haven't read everything, but I looked at every page. I like the pictures of those cards. I think this was a good idea.
I believe I encountered a few errors .. I believe they were mostly typos. =>...
Thank you AMD And everybody who works on the Mesa/Gallium/DDX and DRM Drivers.
As an owner of a AMD 6850 and E350 all that is really lacking is a decent working dynamic power management and audio...
In one word:
AWESOME
I am hoping to see support for "Audio over HDMI" for Evergreen/N-Islands soon!
