FATAL: modpost: GPL-incompatible module fglrx.ko uses GPL-only symbol '__rcu_read_lock'
the patch is:

I use two icons in the taskbar to control my windowmanagers.
One has the target 'kwin --replace' and the other 'compiz --replace'.
Its a pretty simple workaround ;-)
hi,
i don't know what the error "(EE) fglrx(0): atiddxDriScreenInit failed, GPS not been initialized." means, i haven't searched for it, because it runs with nvidia_agp, so it doesn't bothers me...

got the same issue here on a X1650 pro 512MB AGP
Edit: Fixed that thing by lowering AGP aperture size in bios from 512MB to 256MB ;-)
The interrupt issues are gone...yippiiee :-)
But now, i'm sitting here without 3d acceleration, cause of 'Failed to remmap MC AGP aperture base!'

nice try, but it looks like that the ati-devs made no function to check if the gartmem is cacheable or not, they simply disabled the irq manager in the case of a rialto-based card + cacheable agp...
I've tried some things which all won't help.
PCI-E support in kernel on/off
ACPI on/off
with and without kernel agp
I can also confirm that this only happens to rialto-based cards, tried a...
it's not mesa, you'll understand if you read all posts ;-)
I've tested the driver on a x1650, here i got very poor performance caused by high cpu-usage.
On the same system with a 9500 the speed...
Same problem here.
please let me know if you got '
(EE) fglrx(0): Failed to enable interrupts.' in your xorg.log
perhaps it has something to do with it
