Nope it is not ready yet. I'll be sure to try it in the future though as I will have no choice and have to upgrade due to other software...
From my point of view it does not as I'm stuck with old X and old distro.
With fglrx dropping out my card I could always switch to quite good open source driver...
Yeah tell that to my riva tnt2 ... and I do not fscking care that it's old crap or whatever... It's enough for a office pc ...
Similiar ATI hardware would be still supported by X drivers while ATM...
In open source world... You know here many times devs don't give a damn about what users want or need... Devs write the software for their own fun or need and so they work on features they need/want...
how lucky of me to have an IGP that does not have UVD :P ... I have nothing to wait for ... well shader acceleratrion sounds nice as this one will work for me .
All of the notebook users that have those parts and not being able to replace them...
In the first place IN all the IGPs EVERY performance peak is important as those do not have much performance...
I do know that ... I've commented about a hyphotetical total rewrite of Gtk+ toolkit not about the state of 3.0 which more or less is just a number bump with some cleaning up and no major new...
The point was made for a total re write of GTK+ toolkit... If it would get this the new version would be_incompatible_with_all_the_software anyway. Apps would have to be ported...
Since it is...
... or just use Qt4 that doesn't need to catch up ;)
my point was the point releases should be updated in main repo not in external ppa.
How tired can one be to reply to his own post ? :D
*stupid one minute time limit*
Exactly... and I also do hope we will get those point releases ... If Gnome did those Canonical would for sure include them ...
It is and it stands for Quick Time ...
*unless you were speaking about Qt ...
then again Qt is open source and has paid developers working on it with corporate interest to produce the best...
whole KDE SC has point releases which mostly bug fix but sometimes also add some things ...
Not including them was always stupid to me and now FF gets an exeption...
Time for kubuntu devs to...
X devs don't care about KDE ?
I guess we are entering a world where Linux=Ubuntu=Gnome ...
Ah yes I get the same glitches with UMS and KMS in unusable for me because of hang ups and general...
Hmm seems swap and sync patch for ati is not in yet ?
Actually I know it's not accurate ... but AFAIK not accurate means in this case that it's higher then it really is...
I really don't care enough about it to spend time on doing it the right way...
KDE system monitor tells me that bare naked kde with all other parts of OS takes 350 mb and with the apps you mentioned around 407 mb.
kubuntu 64 bit kwin on, nepomunk off.
It's also a joke on Linux ... if you are using KDE as your DE.
Good question ... The recent trend to mention Gnome techs while talking about Xorg (like Gstreamer X work) makes me wonder if any X devs are using/care about KDE at all.
but maybe it's just...
