Below is what I think is the necessary information, but obviously I can provide anything that would be required....
any idea how to fix this? AFAIK I'm using all the latest packages from debian testing. Is there an easy way to check I'm using the right ones?
Should I have TLS enabled or disabled?
Can anyone help with this? I assume I've got a wrong library file.
Running Debian testing with kernel 2.6.36.2 with a:

OK, so I had a good search around, deleted a few suspect looking libraries and then reinstalled all the xorg, mesa, drm packages I could find and it works now.
Not sure exactly what fixed it...

$ apt-show-versions |grep fglrx
shows nothing, so I assume that confirms I have removed it all?
Actually, I only installed it when trying to figure out what was wrong with xv so I had already...

This is the main thing that is flummoxing me I think. A newer kernel could only be 2.6.31 at the moment, since 2.6.32 is not yet released.
I'm not sure I understand how this helps with getting the...
I did git pulls for what I believe to be current repositories for both radeon and radeonhd drivers.
I followed the instructions (autogen.sh, make, make install) but I get no .ko files to load as...
Ok, but if you know for sure you will never support something, surely you should just tell us. I get the impression you've done XvBA internally for fglrx, but aren't releasing it publically for some...
There is some more discussion of UVD/XvBA in another thread. Or more to the point - a discussion of the fact we will never see any information about this stuff unless the functionality has already...
We know you will introduce new hardware periodically regardless of whether you choose to discuss it in advance, so that point seems irrelevant.
Discussion (or not) of software features presumably...
Ok, so basically ATI is no good for any Linux users who want to watch HD video (barring maxing out a high-end CPU using non-stable MT video software), and there is no known date when it will be - if...
So are you opening up UVD, and when can we expect XvBA to work?
