Debian has indeed gone with libav. (the package is still called "ffmpeg" though)
Running ZFS with Debian seems like a good motivation to me. :)
Synaptic's interface is great for doing a bit more advanced tasks. Basically I think synaptic is great for managing packages, and the Software Center is great for managing entire applications.
Segfaults for me. :(
..........
I think bumblebee currently does the job allright, give it a bit more time and it might work really well. :)
Try "bumblebee". :)
I'd like to see the calendar part moved out of evolution. I don't see the point in having to set it up as a mail client just because I want to add my schedule to the gnome calendar.
I had some problems with sound in newer versions. If you have an exception for "mmdevapi", try disabling it (disabling the exception).
I'd like to see user-friendly multiseat. (I'm not a RHEL customer though :D)
I guess it depends on how you see it. I always buy nVidia cards (i.e. I'm a paying customer) and I will keep buying them because of their general quality and their great linux support. I don't see...
If you get it working, could you message me with how? :) I want the exact same thing, but both of you seem to know a lot more about X than me.
This is so awesome. :)
It doesn't use VDPAU for me. :(
Wow, that's really cool. I'm suddenly really interested in trying Xen.
Awesome. :)
-Ofast gave better performance than -O2 on ekopath though. It's the binary speed I'm benchmarking. My program is a pretty simple monte carlo path tracer I've written that's mostly just simple math....
Should I expect a speedup with C++ as well? I tried the compiler and my path tracer took almost twice as long with ekopath (-Ofast) than with GCC (-O2) or ICC (no extra flags). Nice to see it go open...
Awesome. I hope GDM will get the same feature. :)
