Does it support Xorg 1.12?
This might have been true at some point. But now, I compared same instance of Archlinux + KDE 4.7 with full compositing on a radeon HD5770 and an NVidia 240. Both with blobs. The NV sucks! You can't...
But another problem arose. Running dual head, completely distorts the desktop with xf86-video-ati-git.
So, funny story. I was tricked into testing again, but this time, I didn't use the mesa bundled with Arch, yet an unofficial repository with mesa-git. Wow runs with 30FPS on Ultra quality on an...
Can you specify Mesa/wine version? I can't even launch Wow. There's a weird error #132. Same wine, same prefix, works with blob, doesn't work with Mesa. Tried WINEDEBUG, nothing relevant.
Don't tease me. I lost half my day yesterday testing out mesa 8.0 :) Anyway, at least for Wow, the same error that was prior mesa 8.0 is here as well (at least on evergreen hardware). I only need Wow...
Well, Just yesterday I tested out Mesa 8.0 on Arch with 3.2.7 kernel, HD6770, i3-2120, it didn't work. Anything i'm missing out?
Needs more windows(wine) games tests. Now that would be a surprise. Been hoping for it for quite some time now. Using Mesa 7.9 on x1300 mobility, WoW runs. Using mesa 8.0 on Evergreen hardware...
desktop PC users are a dying breed. Everyone tends to optimize for mobile platforms, yet, gnome3/unity have large issues with small screens - fixed-height windows that don't show the buttons etc. I...
Catalyst is even worse with KWin. At the time, I was running Arch linux with the latest kernel/dri/gallium -- something close to what Fedora 15 has ATM.
Also: I am running KDE on dual head...
HD4650 (ddr3). Left alone, it was good, but playing a movie or WoW and it lagged like crazy.
Long time exclusive Gnome user here:
I really like where KDE is going. I like the fact that they still hold to the traditional one-panel-on-bottom, window-buttons-on-right. KWin is much much more...

I bought NV GT440 today after being pissed off about the drivers/GLSL/Portal2. Anyone interested in buying HD4650? It works with Xorg 1.10 now :D
Hi,
Arch user here. Some of you might be familiar with the fact that Arch switched to xorg server 1.10 recently. That throws fgrlx out the window. I am very satisfied with the open source radeon...
This is why we can't have nice things.
I installed 11.2 on 2.6.37 kernel, turned TearFree option On, now playing videos is slow and choppy. Is there a way i can vsync videos (just videos, i dont mind the desktop tearing) w/o using...
Is there ANY chance this one supports 2.6.38rc(x) kernel?
Hey, Q was right! It is slimmer :)
Neverwinter nights works on r600g. Everything looks good there. Using same r600c the fonts are not rendered.
