This is not true, e.g. 845G doesn't work for years. GPU crashes. No 3D, no 2D accel., no XVideo. Only VESA, and VT switching under it leaves black screen.

Intel Extreme Graphics driver is broken for a long time. If Intel took out support for 8xx will it at least and at last release the documentation for the chip to help developers to solve GPU/CPU...
