    Phoronix: Phoronix Releases Linux-Based Testing Platform

    Phoronix Media today released version 1.0 of the Phoronix Test Suite (codenamed "Trondheim"), an extensible open-source platform for conducting Linux-based benchmarking and performance profiling targeted at IHVs, ISVs, and technology hobbyists. The Phoronix Test Suite combines years of Linux testing by Phoronix Media with input from leading technology companies to offer the most comprehensive testing and benchmarking platform available for the Linux Operating System. The Phoronix Test Suite also offers unprecedented capabilities for collaboration via the suite's online component.

    Default What about a GUI

    Thanks for this awesome testing suite. I have really missed good benchmarking software for GNU/Linux.

    I hope you will consider a gtk interface for a later update.

    It would be a good idea a version for several OSs as FreeBSD, Mac, Several MS Windows and others to compare the performance of drivers between operating systems

    The only other OSs we intend to support at this time are OpenSolaris and Mac OS X. FreeBSD can come if some developer for it steps up to the plate.

    Game in windows? That's just a hobbyist OS. It can't handle power hungry games. It's meant for low end machines to maybe check email and that stuff.
