Well, the problem with creating an overall scoring system is that more users would have the urge to cheat and modify the files manually to generate their own scores.

Michael: Is it possible to add an additional graph (or modify the existing single score graph) for all tests so then you can compare all other machines on PTS Global to your system? [perhaps you would have to use a curve of some sort and a line to indicate your score] This would be similar [in type] to the Futuremark game-o-meter (virtualmark) graphs used by www.yougamers.com.
Have you considered creating overall scores for each of the suites? This would require a weighting algorithm for each but may attract more people [overclockers and hardware review sites] into using PTS for testing as an alternative to Sandra, PC Mark etc.
Is there possibility of adding a link to the original source of the program (ex. http://www.openarena.ws/) used in the test and a picture/thumbnail of expected output under each test on http://tests.phoronix-test-suite.com/.

hmmm can't you just setup some sort of security certificate that creates a checksum of some sort based on the PTS files (excluding data) in the directory n check that it is equal to a checksum calculated for that release?Originally Posted by Michael
Yes, but even still that could be easily circumvented by replacing the function that does the checking with just a string containing the original checksums before modification. Plus that does nothing to fend off directly modifying the XML data files.
I think PTS is less about ePenis then it is about diagnosing your system for potential weak spots. In a OS that allows basically everything under the sun to be tweaked, it serves as tool to aid the person in getting the best performance out of the OS possible.
lol - in terms of tweaking though it would be nice to be able to compare with other similar system configurations so you know the upper and lower limits of performance, you know when to keep on tweaking and when to stop.I think PTS is less about ePenis
Perhaps there should be a series of articles on how to use PTS to optimise your system and possible tweaks.
