Default nVidia Quadro FX1700 512MB for gaming?

Heres the deal, I have a freind wanting to trade me some computer parts for a nVidia Quadro FX1700 512MB and I do know it is more for commercial use than gaming. I have read an article where some reviewers overclocked it and got slightly faster benchmarks. But benchmarks mean nothing to me. I am a gamer and look to play shooters. Would this card compare to an 8600 model?

Well lets look at the specs

    8600GT
    Core Clock:540 MHz Shader Clock:1180 MHz Memory Clock:700 MHz (1400 DDR) Memory Bandwidth:22.4 GB/sec FLOPS:75.52 GFLOPS Pixel Fill Rate:4320 MPixels/sec Texture Fill Rate:8640 MTexels/sec

    FX 1700
    Core Clock:460 MHz Shader Clock:920 MHz Memory Clock:400 MHz (800 DDR) Memory Bandwidth:12.8 GB/sec FLOPS:58.88 GFLOPS Pixel Fill Rate:3680 MPixels/sec Texture Fill Rate:7360 MTexels/sec

As you can see the FX1700 loses out on some pretty key specs.
