    Phoronix: Phoronix Test Suite 1.4.0 Alpha 3 Released

    Phoronix Test Suite 1.4.0 "Orkdal" Alpha 2 was released just a bit more than a week ago with support for benchmarking the Mac OS X operating system. Today though we've already prepared the release of Phoronix Test Suite 1.4.0 Alpha 3...

    I'm not entirely familiar with how each benchmark works yet, but aren't those "timed" benches where less is better? Does this mean that we can't compare <1.4 results with 1.4+ results? (regarding these benches only, of course)

    That is correct, but PTS handles that appropriately. If you try to compare a test result from say Phoronix Test Suite 1.2.2 and 1.4.0 and there was a major change to a test in between there, it will automatically recognize that and shouldn't compare the results but would make two separate graphs showing one underneath the other.
