FGLRX XV Bug ?

There has been some mysterious bugs with XV & FGLRX as far as I remember.
And at least some seems to be still there ..

Catalyst 8.11 still has the issue. Seems to be dependent on video resolution.
Furthermore it's not only corrupted video, but total crash of the system sooner or later !

This has been the primary reason keeping me away from FGLRX.
(There has been similar kind of corruption and instability issues with some odd modelines in the past.)
