I would like this thread to be an overview of the developments happening in git master.
So what happend so far:
allow the 3D driver to run with memory management in kernel or without. Introduced some bugs.
allow Xorg radeon driver to work with Kernel Mode Setting. Also started sharing code with Mesa
cleaned up the shaders code in readeon-rewrite. Fixed most of the issues I had after with it.
The next in this list is "memory-tiling" in Mesa and DDX. I suppose that it will allow tile based access to memory through KMS. But on the other hand this means right now we have only sucky sequential memory access??
