X.Org Server is very important in *NIX the industry, they must force a lot more involvement in both financial and development stuff by all companies and organizations that makes use of it in some way. There's a need of more developers and funding so the project can evolve faster so becoming a lot more competitive.
I think X.Org Server must be a lot more competitive and flexible, even becoming totally competitive in the embedded world. Just look at Linux, it's a success because it runs everywhere and can be adapted to all kind of market segments.
