Is that Unknown card detected thing allright? The id has been reported back in May.
Anyways, I'm getting pretty the same thing as described here.
I'm pretty sure the problem is not in mobo + tv combo as it's proven to work flawlessly under WinXP.

Plz help debugging as I'm out of ideas. Working configs r welcome. TIA.

I had to upgrade to kernel 2.6.25 to get the graphics hardware to be recognized with lspci.

Sound over hdmi for me and for this mboard stopped working with kernel 2.6.26 and 2.6.27. This was true for both fglrx and open source driver (radeonhd).

Sound over hdmi worked with fglrx. It started working with radeonhd back in Nov with code from deathsimple.

Back then my xorg log also showed unknown. See here.

The changes to open source driver for hdmi for this mbaord should be part of main git now. Depending on your distribution you might try

git clone git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/xorg/driver/xf86-video-radeonhd

Thanks for your reply, already got this working under 2.6.27 (fglrx).
The problem was that I haven't unmuted the thing with alsamixer -c1.
This thread helped a lot.
