Default configuring an ATI 9200 pro (RV280) Dual screens

Alright I am trying to figure out if I have my video card setup right.

I have newly installed Intrepid on my Lenovo MT-M8808-9HU. I currently have a philips 170B flatscreen on the ATI VGA 0 output and a Samsung Syncmaster 213T.

I currently have dual monitors setup, but at times small fonts seem screwed up on the syncmaster monitor. Also when I run glxgears, I only see about 650fps. I realize that its not a benchmark, so is there something I can run to ensure I have everything set up ie benchmark my video performance?

Here is my Xorg.conf file, which seems REALLY small.... heh

    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Configured Monitor"
    EndSection

    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Default Screen"
    Monitor "Configured Monitor"
    Device "Configured Video Device"
    SubSection "Display"
    Virtual 2880 1024
    EndSubSection
    EndSection

Alright, Radeon 8500 remix. Last supporting Fglrx driver was released back in August 2006, and that one generally isn't compatible with today's X.org and kernel versions.

So, the driver that you'd be wanting to use is the X.org Ati driver.

    I'd start here then : http://wiki.x.org/wiki/radeon

The Radeon wiki points to the RandR 1.2 documentation page on setting up dual head support... http://wiki.x.org/wiki/Projects/XRandR

If you are using a Debian based system, this looks to be the correct set of data to configure a dual head system : http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/HowToRandR12
