There really wasn't anything great about that year's open-source conference from O'Reilly (hence it's demise and conversion into LinuxCon in a different state), but Mark Shuttleworth was there and had keynoted at one of the evening events...

Well, good on Canonical for open-sourcing it.
I don't know if anyone will take the source code and create their own mini-Launchpads (Launchpadette?). There's some good features there, but the interface is really pretty terrible.
