    Kristian had also promised a backend for GTK but that doesnt seem to be a priority

    It's open source. If you want something - help people out

    P.S. I would expect people to start working on the GTK+ backend as soon as wayland and eagle get in sync with each other. And that is not possible without the page-flipping ioctl. So it's probably going to be after kernel 2.32 is out.
